Dr. Balaji Shanmugam is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Board eligible for Interventional Cardiology. He did his residency in Internal Medicine from the University of Pittsburg, Cardiology Fellowship from the University of Florida, and Interventional Cardiology from the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. His keen interest is in the primary prevention of cardiovascular disease and complex coronary interventions.

Dr. Shanmugam is affiliated with Advent Health Fish Memorial Hospital, Orange City & HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital Sanford. He has been active in clinical research and has several publications in Medical Peer-review Journals and presentations at Scientific Conferences, including the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, Chest Conference, and Society of Hospital Medicine.
